Your front garden is the first thing visitors, neighbours and passers-by see, so it makes a big difference to how your home looks. We design and build front garden makeovers in Stone and across Staffordshire, turning tired lawns and broken edging into smart, low-maintenance spaces with real kerb appeal.
What we can do for your front garden
- Low-maintenance gravel gardens. Swap a lawn that needs constant mowing for decorative gravel, such as golden gravel or Black Ice stone.
- Extra parking. Block paving to create more room for cars.
- Paths and pathways. New paved paths and stepping stones to the front door.
- Edging and borders. Replacing old block edging, plus sleeper borders and concrete bullnose edging for a clean boundary with your neighbours.
- Planters. Sleeper planters and raised beds to add height and greenery.
- Lawns. New turf, or artificial grass that stays green all year without mowing.
- Fencing. Low-maintenance composite fencing to finish off the front of the house.
Why makeover your front garden?
- Kerb appeal. A smart front garden makes a great first impression, and can help if you’re thinking of selling.
- Less maintenance. Gravel, paving and artificial grass mean no more mowing a small front lawn.
- More practical. Extra parking and better paths make everyday life easier.

What’s the most low-maintenance option for a front garden?
Gravel or artificial grass are the easiest to look after. Gravel laid over a weed membrane with good edging needs little more than the occasional rake, and artificial grass just needs a brush now and then.
Do I need planning permission to pave my front garden for parking?
In England, you don’t usually need planning permission if the new surface is permeable, such as gravel or permeable block paving, or if rainwater drains onto a lawn or border. Covering more than 5m² with a non-permeable surface that drains onto the road normally does need permission. If you need a new dropped kerb, you’ll also need permission from the council. We’re happy to talk this through when we quote.
Can you keep some lawn or planting?
Yes. Many of our front gardens mix materials, such as gravel with a central planter, or paving with a strip of lawn or artificial grass. We’ll design it around how you use the space.
