How we install artificial grass

Artificial grass is only as good as what’s underneath it. We clear the old lawn and prepare a solid, free-draining base so the grass stays flat and doesn’t puddle, then lay, join and fix it neatly at the edges.

It can also go where real grass can’t. We’ve laid over 30m² of artificial grass directly on top of an existing timber deck, finished with galvanised steel edging, and we’ve used it in front gardens alongside new block paving for extra parking.

Can artificial grass be laid on decking or concrete?

Yes, in the right conditions. We’ve installed artificial grass directly over timber decking. The surface needs to be sound and able to drain.

Does artificial grass need any maintenance?

Very little. An occasional brush to lift the fibres, clearing leaves and a rinse now and then will keep it looking fresh.

Will it drain when it rains?

Yes. Artificial grass has a permeable backing, and we lay it on a free-draining base so rainwater soaks away rather than sitting on top.
