Gravel driveways
Gravel looks great, drains freely and costs less than many hard surfaces. On one of our driveways we laid over 15 tonnes of golden gravel, finished with a contrasting charcoal edging stone. Six railway sleepers made a “soft” retaining wall, bollard lights went around the perimeter, and spotlights lit the entrance.
Block paving and parking extensions
Need space for another car? We’ve extended a customer’s parking in Stone with two rows of block paving alongside new artificial grass, so the front garden stays tidy and green.
Driveway lighting

Driveway FAQs
Do I need planning permission for a new driveway?
In England, if you’re surfacing more than 5m² of a front garden, the surface usually needs to be permeable, or to drain onto a lawn or border, unless you have planning permission. Gravel is naturally permeable. If you need a new dropped kerb to get onto the drive, you’ll also need permission from your local council.
How do you stop gravel spreading?
A firm, well-prepared base and a solid edging, such as edging stones or sleepers, keep the gravel where it belongs.
How much does a driveway cost?
