This garden in Hilderstone, needed the old, rotten, timber decking replaced with composite decking. We replaced the timber deck with a 40 m² composite deck, finished with a picture-frame border and built-in deck lighting.

Before
The old timber decking was looking worn and rotten in places.
During the build
A deck is only as good as what’s underneath it. We prepared the ground and built a level, well-supported sub-frame before laying the boards. Membrane was added along with cabling for the LED decking lights.
The finished deck
The picture-frame border runs boards around the outside edge, hiding the cut ends and giving the deck a crisp, finished look. The recessed lights make it usable well into the evening.
Why composite?
Composite decking won’t rot or splinter, and it doesn’t need sanding, staining or treating every year. A wash-down now and then keeps it looking good. That makes it a popular choice for families who want to enjoy the garden rather than maintain it.
